Even when everything is going well, the voice in my head keeps reminding me of all the things I could have done or should have done and lies to me on how I will never be good enough on account of all my past mistakes. It goes on to say that because I will never change, the future doesn’t look great either.
When things don’t go to plan, it makes be believe that it is entirely my fault. “You are simply not good enough!”, it shouts on such days. When I try to reflect on the plans that went awry and to learn from the experience, it doesn’t leave me in peace. It cunningly whispers that no amount of reflection will make a difference on how the future pans out because “I am still not good enough”. For now, I am calling it the “Finger wagging judge”. This “Judge” has its accomplices that give it power and strengthen its resolve to bring me down. These are collectively known as my “saboteurs”. I will share more about these in another post and how they play mind games with me every day to sabotage my happiness and mental well-being.

I am getting better at stopping it from picking up the microphone and blasting its lies at the high decibel it is used to. The physical body has multiple major muscle groups that are divided and subdivided, all of which need to be strengthened for us to be physically fit. I never knew our mind had muscles that needed to be strengthened in order to win the mind game. I am so grateful to have discovered Positive Intelligence (PQ) and the rich research and knowledge supporting it, which is helping me build the three core muscles of mental fitness, namely:
